The Irish police Public Order Unit have been receiving specialist training in recent weeks as they prepare for outbreaks of public violence in the coming weeks and months following the Budget 2011 report release on Tuesday.

Just outside Dublin, at the Belcamp College site and the Santry station special training is taking place. Their training includes baton charges and how to deal with petrol bombs. The training is being carried out in full riot gear.

Every police division in Ireland has a public order unit who will train to deal with riots. Each consists of 22 officers.

Earlier this year (November 5) the police clashed with protesters at a protest march where 50 hardcore protesters were intent on hijacking the demonstration.

A source told the Sunday Tribune that there was never a “more important than at this moment” due to the public anger over the country's financial crisis.

Peterson: How do you account for the fact that massive peaceful demonstrations throughout the world against the possibility of an attack on Iraq failed to dissuade the violent crazies who went ahead and did it anyway?
Rioting accomplishes nothing other than prove the stupidity of those who do it. Peaceful demonstrations is smarter !!!
