Top Al Qaeda terror target Anwar Al Awlaki was betrayed by his ex-wife living in Ireland who gave vital information to CIA and other American officials, it has been revealed.

Anwar Al Awlaki was killed by a CIA predator drone in Yemen on Friday.

He was considered at the top of the list of American Al Qaeda targets.

The CIA learned of the ex-wife’s existence from a close relative living in the United States. No one knew of her existence until the relative tipped them off to her.

The Irish link to Al Awlaki’s death was revealed by crack terrorism reporter Steven Emerson at the www.investigativeproject.org.

It is understood that CIA agents interrogated the ex-wife in Ireland and asked her to supply vital information about family links and the whereabouts of Al Qaeda’s most high-profile killer.

She agreed to cooperate and proved to be a goldmine of information and identified his family tree for investigators

Through her and other relatives, they traced a close relative living in Yemen’s capitol Sanna.

Al Awlaki was known to call that number and from that call the CIA traced his exact location and coordinates.

All that information paid off on Friday when a predator drone killed Al Awlaki and another American citizen, Samir Khan, who was with him.

Radical Muslim men are just that. They are radical and treat women as chattel. The term "wife" does not hold the same meaning as Western theology.
Finally, an Irish woman who realises that the Muslims are misogynist woman enslavers. And, it's news you'll never read in Ireland. God forbid the nanny States will allow freedom of the press. The Irish press fear retalliation from government it's a wonder any news at all is published.
James O'Shea, update your story and answer the questions raised.
yes in case there is any doubt, its irish central censoring my comments and not explaining why, what is the point of bothering to post comments which you will not publish,at least explain why you wont publish?i think i can work it ouy, political correctness rears its ugly unwanted head..
i bloody hate unexplained censorship,bloody police state../
ok go on explain, why was my comment objectional
i am being censored,so much for a free press, stuff it,i am not going to bother anymore, its your loss, its like cutting shakespear off..
Anyone here ever harbored the sneaky feeling that no matter what the current headline on the MSM is... say, they talk about a plague of slugs in the garden patch, a detergent that does not remove stains, or a dying starving child in the sub-Sahara desert... one of the 'writers' here will move all of creation to somehow find a connection... no matter how remote to Irishness... and then regale us with a cleverly worded story of how it is relevant to this audience? -- These guys are too damn smart. I wonder why they have not been called by the NY Times. -- I mean “Irish-ex-wife”? It takes cojones to come up with that one!
OK ....now tell me how the faeries make the flowers bloom ...
According to al Awalki's bio, he was married to a Yemeni cousin while living in this country and had two children. As a cousin, she would have knowledge of his relatives. I was wondering why Holder was in Ireland thanking them for being such great allies.
It's a fabricated story by IC. No other News media has made ANY reference to this since last Friday. If ANY of this were true you can bet the fact that the alleged "Interrogation" would have made the News here both on Radio and TV. Contrary to the popular belief that the CIA can simply walk into Ireland and "interrogate" a person is as absurd as the CIA themselves. They do NOT have ANY jurisdiction in this country.
Upon reading this article, the first thought that came to my mind was, “Do you know this information to be true”? As these statements could be quite dangerous for the poor ex-wife! I state this because it has been publicly announced that the President of the United States had withheld nearly all information with regards to the how’s and whys behind this assassination of this Al Qaeda leader. Neither the CIA nor any other American or European agency has announced any further information behind this attack, with the exception of their statement that they were able to place this individual at this home, following the arrest of one of a AL Qaeda operative, who offered up the necessary vital information, and that “he” was very forth coming with information, following the interrogation by American agents. This whole story has so little to do with Ireland and so much more to do with sleazy tabloid reporting! IC, is this simply a slow news day, where any rumor or fiction serves as IC article material? Please step it up gentlemen. Slan
When will men learn ,never cross a Irish woman.
its Ireland you could have three heads, live here for 6 months and refer to yourself as being IRISH,i actually see quiet a lack of irish people in ireland at present, next time you visit pick up an irish phonebook, and your eyes will literally pop out.
Don't think it was too savvy to reveal the alleged cooperation of AlAwlaki's ex-wife in details about AlAwaki's whereabouts. It could lead to her being targeted.
