Irish arrest Al-Qaida suspects in murder conspiracy

Irish police have arrested seven Muslims living in Ireland for plotting to kill a Swedish cartoonist who drew a cartoon depicting prophet Mohammed with the body of a dog.

Lars Vilks has also depicted Jesus Christ as a pedophile.

The target was Swedish cartoonist Vilks, who had a bounty of $100,000 on his head from al-Qaida after the cartoon appeared. Al-Qaida also offered $50,000 extra if the cartoonist's throat was slit.

Four men and three women were arrested in Waterford and Cork. Irish police said the men and women were arrested "as part of an investigation into a conspiracy to commit a serious offense, namely, conspiracy to murder an individual."

The suspects are originally from Morocco and Yemen, but are all living legally as refugees in Ireland.

Irish police said they worked with counterparts in the United States and "a number of European countries."

Vilks  told CNN in 2007 he drew the cartoon of Mohammed with a dog's body in order to take a stand.

"It should be possible to insult all religions in a democratic way, " Vilks told CNN. "If you insult one, then you should insult the other ones."

Dogs are considered unclean by  Muslims.

Vilks said his drawing was "a way of expressing things. If you don't like it, don't look at it. And if you look at it, don't take it too seriously. No one actually loves the truth, but someone has to say it," he said.

Ah you gotta hand it the tribe of chosen racers caught red-handed with all those dirty little Irish passports after their Dubai Mafia like hit! Suddenly the sheeple and tax cattle see why mossad murder inc needs to run amok around the planet snuffing dissenters at will. It's only to protect us poor dumb oirish from all those terrorists hiding down at Mrs Molloy's B&B. Don't forget of course that the original commotion of Mr Rose (the unabashed zionist)and Jewish publisher who disseminated this anti Muslim filth (cartoons)is now living happily in zionist Florida after his brief (mossad) sojurn in Denamrk. Originally I believe he was a refugee from some Soviet backwater and obviously brought in to instigate racial hatred and terror, another delightful speciality of the Netan yahoo regime in apartheid Palestine. Aren't we the lucks schmucks that our USer allies and no doubt Israeli cousins are there to share "information" we ourselves are much too gullible to notice, the legions of Al Qaida plotting destruction under our very noses!

How do "refugees" sit around and plot an assasination? One would think they would try to adapt to a new culture, work , go to school etc. Reintroduce them back to where they came from.

To proscribe any organization is an attack on free speech. What the government(s)is saying "we do not want you to here their point of view",or "you're not capable of understanding" When Stalin did it the west called it mind control.

Well, free speech must allow for opposing viewpoints, otherwise it's not free. But even that concept, like all others, has its limits. In the USA for instance, it is illegal (and has been for many years) to verbally threaten the President. The same with openly supporting Al-Quaida...and in Eire, these foreigners had taken it a step even further, plotting actual physical murder. As with any such plot, the authorities had to act before it was carried out. Police do it; governments do it.

Let the courts(Irish) decide if they are guilty or not before we pass Judgment.At least they will have a jury of their peers. Viks is allowed to express his opinion but here lies a quandary.IF SOMEONE POSTS A BLOG,NEWSLETTER OR SPEECH (IN THE U.S.A.) PROMOTING HAMAS or other like minded groups the men in black would whisk them away,no warrants no rights.Who decides what is Free Speech?faceless backroom government agents?.

I feel if this Vilks wants to express his artistic statements, it’s his personal right, as long as he understands that expressing his feelings in such an “outlandish, hurtful, or hateful manner will generate certain reactions, which he clearly seems to understand, therefore, he is stating publicly that he is doing so while understanding full well that certain people will want to harm him. As for those people, they should take their radical hatred back to the Middle East where extremist people seem to be welcomed. Ireland has its own problems to deal with. All those who do not wish to live in Ireland in peace, should pack their bags and leave and go to the country of their choice! Og laigh na hEirean, Sinn Féin.

I do think if you want to live in another country you must try and live as best you can under their rules and not try and enforce your beliefs on the country that is allowing you to live on their shores

These people had no right to be in Ireland if they were planning to spread their intolerant fanatical hate-filled 'holy war' from our shores. Can we really trust any of them? I wish they would all go back home if they don't plan to live in peace with us.

Under the US Constitution's "free exercise thereof" clause all kinds off religious practices get free reign. What is a cult to one, is true faith to another. But also in the US, secular law trumps religious law, and this is why the woman from PA is in deep water.

We cannot paint all people with he same brush. There are a majority of Muslims who are not fundamentalists. This also applies to all organised religions. However, we have to draw a line. People if they are willing to live by our laws and culture and integrate should be made welcome. If not they should go elsewhere (preferably back to where they came from).

Islam is not a true religion; it is a cult of violence. God bless Lars and keep him safe for he tells truth. I do not understand why Muslims are not expelled from all places, all countries, all nations and forced to return to the Mideast. They are a violent people who espouse murder, which is against God's commandments.

I agree with IAP to some extent. Killing people is not my forte but desire to kill false beliefs is a strong forte (sic) of my un-requited Christian determination. We need to think differently to achieve Truth in Christ for all to enjoy. Islam has no single means of truth for all to enjoy, none whatsoever. A False Religion will always fall on its own sword. Unless we don't pray, Satan (oh, yes, he so does exist!) offers true religions the samurai sword. It’s God’s world and we are part of His Truth, whether we like it or like it not. Samurai swords worked before in the Pacific Ocean's parts of our world, maybe it was God’s way of doing things then. Good prayers for the good of God's world are always answered by God. We should maybe pray for this, not our own desires. ’Else we’ll fall on our own selfish samurai swords. Even the Christ-loving Orangeman, kickstar, agrees. That’s a way forward for all Christians.

I reprint my post from an earlier 'Al-Quaida in Ireland' story, today: "Anywhere you allow these people, they will perpetuate THEIR culture, and NOT the one they're in. They will only use it as a beach head, to further spread themselves into yet OTHER countries where they also don't belong. They are a cancerous growth. And all of this only happens because stupid, passive countries LET them. ENOUGH OF THIS. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES. EXPEL ALL MUSLIMS FROM EIRE, IMMEDIATELY." I also add: Time to re-introduce the firing squad in Ireland. I mean it. Enough is enough, with these Mohammadan foreigners. If they're caught doing stuff like this, then (firing squad effects, here). As for the rest of them, DEPORT THEM NOW.

RBC is probably right on this but what is not established yet for sure is that the people arrested in Ireland are of Al-Qaeda (for other reasons I hope they are). They could be a few unemployed Irish gangster assassins onto a quick buck make. Religion has nothing to do with money. Mercenary assassins do want money. Erm, maybe I’m wrong on this – didn’t allegedly Israeli assassins go after an Arab leader in Dubai recently using Irish passports? Money wasn’t the issue then. Or was it both money and religion? Do these allegedly Al-Qaeda people arrested in Ireland have Irish passports? Is this aget-back effort? It may be time to question the passport allocators in Ireland. It may be time to question the head people in the IFE (Islamic Forum Europe) as to their ultimate intentions for Europe. In fact, given the Turkish Foreign Minister’s rubbish bin dump-able splurge in the Irish Times today - >> http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/opinion/2010/0309/1224265878209.html << - maybe we should call him in too and ask him why he thinks Christian Ireland is a soft touch for support for Turkey, with its Islam-dedicated democracy (don’tcha love that phrase?!) and its own people vis-a-vis desired membership of the EU. If you need to know the differnce between us and them, consider this: there are no Death Squads out there looking for Vilks for depicting Jesus Christ as a pedophile. Makes who the good guys are and who the bad guys are pretty clear, no?
