An Irish-American wife allegedly drove 250 miles to shoot her husband’s mistress last Friday, after he refused to end the affair.

The Huffington Post reports that Shannon O’Roark Griffin (52) learned about her husband, Roscoe Griffin’s, extra-marital affair during a marriage counseling session in Kansas last Friday.

Later that afternoon, O'Roark Griffin drove to the home of her husband’s lover, a Romanian psychiatrist, Irina Puscariu, and shot her in the face three times. The victim’s mother was at home at the time of the shooting and witnessed the murder, police said.

The 52-year-old former NASA employee was charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.

It is understood that Puscariu had broken off her relationship with Griffin after she discovered he was married, according to a retired Kansas City police officer who was friends with the victim.

When officers from the Kansas Highway Patrol caught O’Roark Griffin, she admitted she had two unloaded handguns in the car.

The Kansas City Star
reports that Roscoe Griffin is a senior aerospace instructor with the Air Force Junior ROTC.

Speaking about the victim, Todd Hill, a Kansas City-area psychiatrist, described her as a hard worker.

“I know that the staff there had nothing but good things to say about her. She was a trusted colleague, well-liked and dedicated,” he told the Kansas City Star.

The defendant is being held in Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Let me see if I got this straight -- this SOB of a husband cheated on his wife. The other woman did not know he was married and soon as she found out, she cut the relationship off. He told his wife about it in a counseling session and she blamed the "other" woman, not the husband? I'd say he's just as responsible for Dr. Puscariu's murder as the wife is...maybe more-so, since she's obviously a nut case and he knew it but still told her about the affair. Heterosexuals should not be trusted with the institution of marriage; they keep doing their best to destroy it.
I'd do a lorena bobbit on him
well done - for better or worse - the ahole will have something to remember when he does the humperdink.
fair play to her, but she shouldnt have done it in passion, revenge is a dish best served cold, anyway i would have blown his balls off first, bloody men always screw women up. and by the way faberm1 a women is entitled to be dependent on the love of her husband and vice versa, especially when they have been married so long. Thats the whole point of marraige, its not some disposable arrangement.
How stupid can you get?
I totally agree with JamieLM. I think her husband probably did a head job on her and she never stopped to think.
Now how stupid was that? Mrs. G, you committed murder - a woman is dead because you just wanted revenge and to punish HIM, you're going to prison where you'll have plenty of time to think about that, and your soon-to-be ex-husband is going to be free to move on with his life with someone else. @faberm1 - so right about no one is entitled to murder in retaliation over a failed relationship.
Pretty obvious to see why he was trying to get a divorce from such a nut case. He married an extremely co-dependent woman. Although he was wrong to cheat, this is America and people have the right to end relationships that no longer work for them. The other party is not entitled to murder in retaliation. I bet he'll go ahead and get the divorce now. This one needs to be put on that cable tv show "Snapped".
