Shocking new data compiled by Children at Risk in Ireland reveals that girls as young as 11 years old are too often becoming victims of gang rape and other sexual exploits.

The Irish Examiner reports on the upsetting new finds. Children at Risk clinical director Dr Niall Muldoon commented on the research, which he believes is becoming “normalized,” and whose prevalence has increased with the growing accessibility to pornography by youths.

Dr. Muldoon noted how gang rape is becoming more common but is not being reported to gardaí due to the stigma attached in Ireland. His comments came after Sue Berelowitz, Britain’s deputy children’s commissioner, delivered her findings to a shocked House of Commons in Britain. Her full report is due out in September.

Berelowitz said that girls as young as 11 years old are expected to perform oral sex acts on rows of boys for up to two hours at a time in some parts of London. She added that an in-depth study proved that there "isn’t a town, village, or hamlet in which children are not being sexually exploited.”

Berelowitz added that it is now "quite common" for girls to be lured via online chatrooms to meet a friend, only to be met by a group of boys and gang-raped in a park.

"Then another group of boys come, they take her to another part of the park and she is serially raped again," said Ms Berelowitz. "I wish I could say to you that such things are uncommon but I’m afraid they are quite common."

"We see situations where a girl might fancy a boy and then consents to something and then a friend arrives, and another.

"We also then see situations where a friend might be videoing them and the girl doesn’t realise what’s going on until its too late. Very often, it’s all cloak and dagger and the girl is treated as a commodity.”

"Pornography needs to be seen by parents as another danger their children need to be aware of. Parents need to communicate with their children. They need to make them aware that this is going on and that if something happens to them, that they can talk to them about it.

"Also, teenagers need to know that pornography can be harmful. They need to know that there is stuff that they are not allowed to watch. There are things that we don’t allow them to see in real life so why would we allow them watch it on our screens?"

WHAT A STUPID IGNORANT ARTICLE. ONE YOU COULD ONLY FIND IN AN AMERICAN NEWSPAPER LIKE THIS. YOU ARE SO FAR REMOVED FROM IRELAND ITS PEOPLE AND WHATS GOES ON OVER HERE, THATS ITS COMICAL..
Eh the report was from the U.K.?????????????? Once again bad reporting from i.c.
Where are these '11-year-olds' parents? Who is taking care of these children? THat is where the real problem lies.
Another shockingly irresponsible piece of weighted amateur "journalism" from IC & another reason why I come back here less & less frequently.
"Keep rejecting God, Ireland, and pay the price, rape, abortion and perversion." The church has done more than enough raping in Ireland thanks..
ProudCanadian - you should be proud - you have a great country with great people who take care of each other! This includes a tremendous national healthcare program as well as strict gun laws which keep your homicide rate and envy of every American citizen. As an American, I wish we would learn from our northern neighbors - and many, many Americans feel the same way I do!
my previous comment was deleted by IC because I dared say this story was based on two cases in England and had nothing to do with Ireland at all and therefore is a non story. There you go IC should stand for 'I Censor'.
Portia777.So tell everybody on IC how every man in your life thought you were nothing.Lets hear how your father wasn't there for you and how you got pregnant and the guy ran off and how the guy you married beat the crap out of ya.You have been a failure when it comes to men.I know that for sure.Too bad you miserable bitter old cow.I bet you have cats.
Am I wrong but is all of this information not from an article in a British Newspaper about youths in England and not Ireland. If so the heading is very misleading. Is there nothing else to write about, 3 of the articles are about rape. Not that it does not exist but surely there is something good and interesting to write about.
The Western ethos depicts women as willing accomplices in sex, their apparent obsession with exposing their body parts to all and sundry; is there any reason that these foreigners think that all western women are whores? Not only are foreigners confused. Even young girls are confused. They are showered with the Pill, contraceptives, the morning after pill, abortion. They she their heros, f**king around and telling them, in magazines with readerships as young as 10 years of age, that sex is wonderful, you should try it now. Schools are providing children of 6 and 7 in Britain with graphic pictures of copulation and cartoon character, for Gods' sake, having sex. I don't know what happens in the South but I'm sure the liberal social workers will make sure everyone can enjoy the fun of sex.
With regards rape, it always amazes me when I suggest that my daughter take the car rather than walk home especially when, like during the 11th of July in the North, there are a lot of drunk young males staggering about. Her mother says that she'll be alright walking and the threat of harm to her daughter doesn't seem to register. I've noticed this denial in female friends and work associates; they seen to deny that they can be at risk. And, in case anyone feels that they can dismiss the extent of rape in Ireland, just remember that there is a stigma attached to it and these girls who are so sure that it will never happen to them are highly unlikely to report a rape. Not only will they endure an embarrassing intimate examination and a court case where their 'purity' will be questioned before court. But they will also have to admit that they weren't as strong as they thought.
I have only heard of one case of gang rape in Ireland. I will say no more.
Keep rejecting God, Ireland, and pay the price, rape, abortion and perversion.
yes, gang rape is used on girls in care who do not keep their mouths shut. it is rife in UK too. No not Muslims or Eastern Europeans- white males who are trained to believe they are superior to females. We know how good ireland is for that.
@the people who disagree with this, re-read the article (or have someone literate read it for you). Irish Central didn't just make this up, they are obtaining information from legitimate sources that say 'gang rape' is becoming normalized in Irish society. JUST like it is here in Sweden. A woman here almost recently died after being gang raped for 10 hours by at least 8 men, and the LONGEST sentence given was 6 years to a man who has past rape convictions, and who 'set up' the entire thing. they were all afghan asylum seekers who either denied fully having any contact with her (DNA disagrees) or said it was fully consensual, even though the woman COULD NOT WALK FOR A MONTH and was covered with blood, according to witnesses. After being in the hospital for injuries she then spent one month in a psychiatric hospital. A 29 mother of 2, her life is destroyed. Gang rape, and brutal stranger rapes are becoming THE NORM in Sweden as well. THANKS to mass 3rd world immigration.
