@SingleDonald: in regard to Uncle Joe in Chicago, I believe that your support is misguided. Malachi Martin "laid it on the line" in regard to "Bernardo". As for Kavanaugh, the church tribunal states that there were multiple counts of abuse of this one individual. Somewhere, you have to believe the Church. This is sad but the decision appears to be just. I am not so sure that he deserved to be "hung out to dry" over one individual. What about the priests that have children?
One is left to wonder how many other priests were wrongfully dismissed from the ministry by church courts.
borefield, I believe Cardinal Bernadini was from Chicago. His accuser recanted, and apologized.
I pray that this priest wins. A few years back there was a Monsignor from Boston that was falsely accused too, if my memory serves me correctly his name was Bernadini. He sued and was exonerated . He died shortly afterwards. Hopefully Rev. Kavanagh will be reinstated and win his case.
God help this poor man and all others who have falsely accused.
I hope he wins. I know there are some that were. I was born and raised in a very Catholic family. we had all irish priest and I know that some were. But some were wronged and i hope he wins.
