David Norris just three signatures away from President nomination

So Michael Lowry Fianna Gael (sic) is going to put Norris over the top. Is this any indication of Norris's supporters? Lowry was just asked to resign by an all party motion in March of this year because the Moriarty Report. Already Lowry has been fined 1.3 million Euro for his criminal behavior by the Criminality Assets Bureau. Wow, this Norris guy must some piece of work to get this type of support.

Fingers crossed, David! This whole fiasco points up the flaws in the presidential election system. While it is the only national election where the people directly elect the winner, at the end of the day the candidates either have to be backed by a political party or vetted by the Oireachtas / local authorities to get on the ballot, so in effect it's not really a democratic choice of the people.
