Australia is looking to fill its job vacancies with Ireland’s unemployed, says a report in the Independent.

According to the region's employment minister Peter Collier, western Australia has enough job vacancies to employ a third of Ireland’s 450,000 unemployed.

Collier says the region is anticipating a shortfall of 150,000 workers by 2017 and the area, which is rich in oil and gas exploration, mining and agriculture, is booming and is crying out for skilled workers. And the prosperity there is based on sustainable industries, unlike Ireland’s short-lived boom.

"It's an economic powerhouse," he said at a recruitment drive in Dublin.

"With more than €145bn of resource and infrastructure projects planned, western Australia is on the cusp of a 25-year expansion, which will drive the nation's economy."

The Australian government predicts there will be more than 20,000 vacancies in the building and construction trades by 2015, more than 28,000 jobs in health care and related fields and close to 20,000 jobs in education, said the Independent.

Collier said they are desperate to hire. "They'll come back on the plane with us if we can get them!" he said.

Why does Dillon ALWAYS confuse Ireland with the third world US?
Georgie boy. You're new treatment doesn't appear to be working.Your mental problems could be caused by Syphilis. It effects the brain. Are you sure you only picked up lice from those dirty ones you told us you pick up?
I just hope they leave their PPS cards (roughly equivalent to US Soc Security) behind before they leave. You see, the fraudsters native and foreign may need extra PPS numbers. There's already only 3 million more numbers in circulation that there are people in the country! Ireland, a failed state.
I would like to point out to the writer of this article that Western Australia is the full name of the State so Western Australia with a capital W is the correct title.
George:dey were probly watchin' dere favrah sons rory darren and grame playing wit dere little balls in England..deloirah becos de lads were doin'so well...as long as dey werdn't carryin' a tricolour or anytoin offensive like dah...
@mamaginnty, did you not read about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? There are now, more people working in the wind industry, here in America than in the coal mining industry. Thank you God! The tide is finally turning. There are many people, around the world, working on promoting renewable resource industries. It is happening, and that is where the Irish should be looking for jobs. Solar energy will soon be cheap enough for everyone. They have founds a way to paint it onto steel girders. it will be built into new homes, soon. There is also plenty of geo-thermo energy available. We do not have to destroy the earth and our own health, by using fossil fuels, or dirty coal, anymore.
Australia is a huge country. You could fit Ireland a hundred times into it. Why don't all the Irish emigrate to Australia? Evacuate the island, and leave it to the Russians, Chinese, Afghans, Nigerians, Poles etc. They're taking it over already in any case. The Irish have made a complete mess of their country, they ruined their economy and are becoming a minority in their own land by importing vast numbers of foreign settlers. They're spineless--there was supposed to be a big demonstration in Dublin yesterday against the EU screwing Ireland, and I am told only a couple hundred people showed up. I guess the rest were watching English soap operas or soccer on TV, or swilling beer into their pot-bellies. Maybe they could start again afresh. And somewhere warm, in fact I think there is a New Ireland down there somewhere. The aborigines won't mind being flooded by foreign settlers--after all it seems many Irish didn't mind either. Just been on Skype to someone in Ireland and she tells me it's freezing, storming and raining there all day today. Actually it's a bit too toasty where I am for my liking, but I'll take it. She'll happily evacuate Ireland, says it's a lost cause. Advance Australia Fair--Here come the Micks and Biddys. Or rather the Emmas and Sophies and Brandons and Tylers!
The future is a long way off Searlit, when it comes to solar power, until then we need the oil and gas, but Ireland has the gas and oil waiting to be mined, would employ thousands and pay off the E.U. But what are our coalition of idiots thinking, they want to sell them off to the highest bidder, our forestry is in danger of going this way too. Australia, well this is going to open up a copletely new area of cities etc. for them as the west is quite sparse in population.
Oil an gas industry, mining? These are the industries of the past, not the future.
The biggest export Ireland ever had, the people. While the scum of Ireland continue to pay themselves exorbitant salaries for a job they cannot do. This cycle of exporting the people demonstrates that the traitors of Ireland have been running the country too long.
