Noah Lonergan is an amatuer runner whose only completed a half marathon but he will attempt to run to his home in East Sandwich from 26 miles away in memory of those who lost their lives in the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
Noah went out for a run Monday after watching elite runners finish the Boston Marathon. When Noah returned home he was quickly informed of the tragedy by his sister who was at the event and about 100 feet away from an explosion but was unharmed.
Noah explained his initial reaction to the Cape Cod Times in saying, “I turned on the news and saw it. It was emotional for me. I can't even imagine what it was like for the runners there.”
The runner was then inspired to complete a marathon in memory of lives lost wearing a shirt that read, “Yesterday I was running 4 the dream, today I run 4 dreams lost.”
He was seen 16 miles into the trek on his way up Route 132.
