Vatican official urges Christians to have more children as Europe becomes ‘Islamized’

A Vatican official has urged Christians to have more children as they are creating a religion vacuum which is being filed by Islam.

Father Piero Gheddo, a senior Vatican official said the low European birth rate of indigenous European's along with the influx of Muslim migrants with large families would mean that Europe would soon be dominated by Islam.

"The challenge must be taken seriously" said Fr Gheddo. "Certainly from a demographic point of view, as it is clear to everyone that Italians are decreasing by 120,000 or 130,000 persons a year because of abortion and broken families – while among the more than 200,000 legal immigrants a year in Italy, more than half are Muslims and Muslim families, which have a much higher level of growth."

He said "If we consider ourselves a Christian country, we should return to the practice of Christian life, which would also solve the problem of empty cradles."

The Italian priest is from the Vatican's Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions, a society of missionaries and is a highly respected figure.

There are no words in any language to express my disgust with the Catholic church. I have my own story: at age 18, my Catholic parents insisted I break up w/ the love of my life because he was not Catholic; I married a Catholic, who, after 6 mos., was living with another woman...when I divorced, the priest told me I was no longer allowed to participate in the sacraments. In my interpretation, I was no longer a Catholic. (when I needed them most) I joined the Episcopal Church which I love.......and the vatican would love the money I give to the Episcopal Church. PS: There is seldom a day in my last 50 years that I do not think of my No. 1 love.
more babies - more minds to corrupt and more children to molest. and in a couple decades more money for the church planning the new "Holy Inquistion" under RATZInger, whose earliest lessonss were in Nazi Germany.
In reference to the Muslims, 2Bornot2B wrote: "How about on stoning to death women who get raped or are accused of adultery by their philandering husbands;" And what did the Catholic Church in Ireland encourage Catholic parents to do when their Catholic daughters were raped or accused of adultery? They sent them to MAGDALENE Laundries! And who in Ireland does not know of the atrocities, which happened there? Tell me, honestly, "Was that a better solution to stoning them?"
I belonged to a "Good, Catholic family,"whose parents dutifully had 8 chldren, two of which were abused/molested by priests. Out of the eight children, who were raised in Catholic school, and attended daily Mass every day but Saturday, do you know how many of the children are still Catholic? One! And she is a marginal Catholic, who only goes to Church because she takes her parents. None of the eight raised their children Catholic. Why should they? They saw how a priest got away will molesting two of their brothers, without suffering any consequences, unlike the siblings who were molested. Some consequences of sin never go away. Why provide more children for a "Celibate Clergy" to molest, rape and sodomize? Why, Why, WHY?
If Ireland is having making baby problems myself & a few of my pals will sacrifice ourselves to lend a hand to our brothers across the pond.
Looks like that woman in Donegal should get the Papal Medal of Honour for her reproductive work.
beachline: "The Vatican needs to stop living in the past and join the 21st century". But you're living in the 16th century, beachline. The Reformation was all about, apart from Henry VIII's penis, having married priests and letting everyone decide their own interpretation of everything. A few decades later and the same Reformation vermin were torturing and murdering Irish people who clung to the Old Faith. Go back to the 16th century, you bigoted beach.
When the Catholic church allows priests to marry and have children then they will be in a position to tell people to have children. I have five children by choice because I can afford to feed, clothe, house and educate them. Many others are not as lucky as I am and choose not to have children or have only one child. The Vatican needs to stop living in the past and join the 21st century. That includes allowing priests to marry, allowing women to become priests, and stop telling everyone else how to live their lives. I left the hypocritical Catholic church when I was 18yrs.old and raised my children in a Christian church that taught love and goodness instead of hell and damnation. Muslims are a force to be reckoned with, but not with hatred. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!
What Father Gheddo said is true. Islam's follower's are breeding like rabbits and soon they will be able to vote in sharia laws in any country they win elections and then everything will change for the worse! Seamusdhu's post was excellent!
KMcSinger says: **Maybe the Catholic church would be better off looking at what Islam is offering people that the Catholic church isn't.** -- Hey there's an idea, let's get our priests to focus the Sunday homily on flying planes onto buildings and/or killing people who don't convert. How about on stoning to death women who get raped or are accused of adultery by their philandering husbands; yeah, the same ones who already have several wives.--- Let's build our churches with segregated rooms for men and women.--- Let's have our schools and universities teach useful courses like "Head Slicing 101," "Optimum Techniques for the Castration of Women," "Fashion Merchandisng for Burkhas" "Preserving the Ultra-Macho Image of muslim Men While they Dress in Women's Robes" -- Now, why didn't we think of that sooner, hey Catholics??Wouldn't we then live in a truly wonderful world?
KMcsinger,if people don't like a religion to restrict their life, Islam is not a a liberal religion. If that is what you mean.
2BorNot2B: Well said. I'm always amused by how many non-Catholics get off on attacking the Catholic Church. Listen, O'Donovan--It's none of your damn business how we Catholics finance our schools. Go picket a mosque or a synagogue, or better still, get a life, you obsessive.
Seamusdhu - May I congratulate you on a well said and beautifully written post.
ODdonabhain, the Church has survived so far with unmarried priests and surely without your two bucks on the collection plate; be sure she will continue to do so and probably even flourish without you. The last thing she needs is one more yapping dog on her heels. And I'm not sure why you decry the closing of the schools since it appears that you, like many CINOs do, used her facilities to little advantage, learning little of your faith, and then leaving to become a bomb thrower in her direction. --- Same goes for graykeller who judging by the language he uses, is confusing the confessional with the gutter where he lives.
Love it when the church says---Have more kids. It's like they tell you in the confessional to f##k more.
