Robert Pattinson replaces Colin Farrell in David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis’
“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson is set to replace Colin Farrell as the lead in David Cronenberg’s new film, an adaptation of a Don DeLillo book, “Cosmopolis”.
DeLillo’s 2003 novel follows a day in the life of a newly-married billionaire (who will now be played by Robert Pattinson) who cheats on his wife, gets stalked, assaulted and loses his fortune, all in 24 hours.
Colin Farrell will no longer be able to take this role due to a clash in schedules are he will be filming the remake of “Total Recall”.
Marion Cotillard will star as Pattinson’s wife in “Cosmopolis” while Paul Giamatti will play one of his stalkers.
David Cronenberg has another release in 2011 in the form of “A Dangerous Method”. The movie is a British historical biopic based on the 1993 non-fiction book by John Kerr. It stars Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley and Vincent Cassel.
