One of the four finalists in The Glee project, Ireland’s own Damian McGinty is a strong contender for the coveted spot on the popular TV show. Here are some interesting facts about the rising star.

1.    He has been performing for over a decade now and won his first music competition by the time he turned six.

2.    His musical role model is Paul McCartney and Gary Barlow from the UK band "Take That."

3.    The movie "the Hangover" is his favorite movie.

4.    Damian is sports mad and when he is not singing he loves playing football.

5.    He is a fan of the UK hit show "The X Factor"and is a fan of Jedward, an Irish act originating from the show.

6.    He joined the popular Irish singing group "Celtic Thunder" at the age of 14.

7.    His audition song for Glee was "Lean on me".

8.    His favorite bands include Coldplay and Journey.

9.    Has always wanted to go to Australia.

10.    His first concert was to see Lenny Kravitz.
