Susan Boyle has become the first ever female artist to simultaneously hold the U.S. and UK no1 spots twice in less than 12 months.
The 49-year-old singer was delighted by the news describing it as “amazing”.
"I've never felt happier in all my life. This is an amazing result and one I never expected," she added.
With her two albums, last years “I Dream A Dream” and follow up “The Gift”, SuBo is only one of three acts to achieve this feat. She now joins The Monkees and The Beatles in the chart records as a result.
Her new album “The Gift” has been named the fastest selling holiday album on both sides of the Atlantic. The new record sold more than 317,000 copies in its first week of release in the U.S.
Last year the Scottish woman's debut album became the biggest and fastest selling album in the world.
Commenting on the success, SuBo's boss Simon Cowell said "I'm thrilled for Susan, she has once again defied the odds. She is my superwoman."
