They saved the best for last on the finale of “America’s Got Talent” – a performance by Susan Boyle.

She may not dance like Shakira, and she may not be as gorgeous as Leona Lewis, both of whom also appeared on the show, but the amazing Scottish singer doesn’t need all the glitz and glam to deliver a knockout performance that can move people to tears.

Boyle made her American debut on the talent competition show, singing a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” which will be featured on her forthcoming debut album “I Dreamed a Dream.”

“The sensational Susan Boyle,” as “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon dubbed her, stood center stage under a single spotlight.

Susan, looking classically beautiful in a black dress that sparkled when it hit the light, dived right into the moving lyrics of the song, looking as composed and confident as ever.

When her now world famous voice hit the high notes in the chorus, the audience went wild.

As the song went on, the singer’s voice became more powerful, and with each word she displayed genuine emotion, which made the song that much more poignant.

It’s evident that the Blackburn, Scotland native, who used to sing karaoke in the local pub, has come a long way in terms of professionalism and stage presence. On “America’s Got Talent,” she owned her voice and her performance like never before.

The incredible singer brought the audience – and all three judges – to their feet when the song ended and she lowered her mic.

Judge Piers Morgan, also a judge on “Britain’s Got Talent” and Boyle’s biggest fan, was beaming, and judge Sharon Osbourne even blew her a kiss.

Susan stood on the stage, obviously delighted with her performance, and graciously presented the orchestra behind her for their applause.
