Susan Boyle and Lady Gaga are perfect together

Lady Gaga has called Susan Boyle "my woman of the year" for achieving "more in this year than most artists will in a lifetime."

She also stated, "This time last year nobody even knew who she was and now she is knocking the world's most established artists off the album and singles charts."

Lady Gaga stated, "Our styles are different. I don't know if we could work together, but never say never. It would be great to work with somebody of that talent."

Good for Gaga and the two have far more in common than you might believe at first glance. Lady Gaga is really Stefani Germanotta, a working class Italian kid from Yonkers New York, just  north of the Bronx. Despite her glam rock image she knows how incredibly difficult it was to break into the big time.

She has a deep understanding of where Susan Boyle, another working class lady, is coming from and the incredible obstacles she overcame to become a star.

Lady Gaga is telling the truth about Susan, fully understanding the amazing voyage she has made as Lady Gaga made the same trip in a different way. The former convent school girl is now the hottest rock act since Madonna, but even she cannot outsell Susan Boyle at the moment.

The fact that she acknowledges that and Susan's extraordinary journey is a feather in her cap.

Susan studied theatre and voice at Edinburgh Acting School. GaGa studied at NYU (I think). Though SB's dad had a working class job, it was definitely an education bound, strive for success oriented family. I mean they'd have to be, one of her nieces is an entertainment lawyer and her family seem petty articulate, as does Susan when she's relaxed during an interview. I agree GaGa and Susan are both impressive vocalists, and yeah to a degree GG's motivation is probably self promotion, but it does make some sense to me. Both have a gritty, brash side and if each move some from their standard performance style, they might make for some interesting art. But they need the RIGHT material.

Great! I would be intrigued to see Susan Boyle and Lady GaGa in a duet! Love both and hope it comes to pass.

I agree that they'd be perfect together. Both are quite musical, play the piano, have gorgeous, strong voices, have outstanding stage presence, and credit their mothers with their success. They both rocked the X-Factor even though they presented different material. Both are down to earth and honest in interviews - Lady Gaga recently acknowledged that she was a "freak" as a young girl and didn't fit in. I liked L Gaga already but that she has the good taste to acknowledge Susan's achievement makes me love her even more.

I'm all for the collaboration with Lady Gaga and Susan Boyle. Susan would probably enjoy singing with artists from different genres so I hope she does put herself out there to gain experience in the industry once in a while.

Media attention gimmic pure & simple, number of other "artists" (i.e. Rap Crappers)doing same thing as well. None of this will happen, move on now to commenting if for sure Susan's going to appear on ITN U.K. "Pop Star To Opera Star" program debut January 15th and sing with Andrea Bocelli, THAT indeed would be "Grand" to watch!!!

Nice commentary, but a minor correction. Yes, Lady Gaga did make it the hard way, working in New York rock clubs since she was 14 and writing for other performers. Nothing was handed to her. I'm sure she understands the obstacles Susan Boyle had to overcome. But, while Gaga's parents may have been working class, she wasn't. Her father is a successful internet entrepreneur and she went to prestigious schools. Nothing wrong with that, or with Susan's background. It is what it is. Also, Gaga's from New York City - Manhattan - not Yonkers.
