Sarah Palin's reality TV show has been axed after just one season.
The controversial reality show about the former Alaskan governors life will not do a second season according to Entertainment Weekly.
The show had been a hit for the TLC network with a viewership of five million in its season premiere, but these figures dropped to 3.2 million by episode two.
The former running mate of John McCain was criticized for filming scenes of her and her family hunting for caribou and shooting guns.
Reports suggested Palin banked $250,000 for each of the eight episodes of the show.
The reasons for the show’s cancellation are not known yet but rumors are rife that Palin may run for president in 2012.
The series was the source of several headlines from comments the mother-of-five said including her declaration: "I'd rather be doing this than in some stuffy old political office".
