Rosie O’Donnell gets blessing from Oprah and courts controversy

New Rosie Show tackles bigger issues

Rosie O'Donnell has always called it like she sees it, but on her new show on the Oprah Winfrey Network the talk show star is leaving no holds barred.

Since The Rosie Show's premiere on October 10, O'Donnell has tackled topics such as women's renewed menopausal sex drive (including her own) to police brutality at the Occupy Wall Street protests.

'I'm going to talk about things that matter as well as entertaining fun things. But we're not going to leave stuff out. We're going to talk about what's current – what's happening and what people are talking about in real life,' O'Donnell said in an article on the Huffington Post this week.

In the last decade O'Donnell's frank assessment of the rationale behind the Iraq War led to conflict - and ultimately her abrupt exit - on The View, but Oprah clearly trusts her talent and her instincts.

'Oprah is so supportive,' O'Donnell told the press. 'She said, 'Trust your instincts, go with your gut, you know what to do, trust yourself.' And that's what I've been doing.'

The Rosie Show has played to mixed reviews and so-so ratings, but O'Donnell is unbowed.

'We're going slow and steady. It's a marathon, not a sprint. And it's Oprah Winfrey, so I would not bet against her. That's for sure.'

I haven't watched it - I don't watch much TV, too many crime shows, silly 'reality' shows, etc. I know it's on the OWN channel. Oprah's own network.
rosie WHO????
she's on tv but where is she hidden
'And it's Oprah Winfrey, so I would not bet against her. That's for sure.' The 4-million dollars plus Oprah is paying her should also have something to do with Rosie 'playing nice to the boss.'
Rosie operates on the crux of near-psychotic rage edged with paranoia and does not let reason, logic, or fact interfere.
All this time ROSIE was Sinead's perfect boyfriend!
As long as she faces no intelligent disagreements on her show, there won't be another melt down.
Well I'd rather spend an hour watching Rosie than a minute with you OldSarge, that clear?
Who cares? Rosie has proven over and over again to be more than a few degrees off plum. Anyone who has listened to her rants know that she is devoid of reason and ignorant of history.
