'Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1,’ the newest installment of the hugely popular film franchise, has just surpassed the $700 million mark, setting its pace for the highest grossing film in the series.

Movie Fanatic reports that Lionsgate executives are rightly happy with the booming success of the latest film. “We are very proud of the success the franchise has experienced and anticipate the saga’s conclusion this November,” Lionsgate heads Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said in a statement.

“The milestone is important on several fronts and illustrates the vitality of the franchise on a global scale even after four films. Stephenie Meyer’s [author of the book series the films are based on] story and characters were brought to the screen this time via the talented hands of Bill Condon along with the cast and crew that has been with the film franchise since its inception,” said Friedman and Wachsberger.

‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1’ is the second to last installment of the film franchise from the book series. The concluding part of ‘Breaking Dawn’ is set for a very anticipated release this coming November.

Currently, ‘Twilight: New Moon’ is the highest grossing of the Twilight films, but ‘Breaking Dawn, Part 1’ is on course to break that record shortly.
