The annual CNN Heroes tribute will air Thanksgiving night on the cable news network, and Pierce Brosnan was on hand for the taping on Saturday in Hollywood to pay a special tribute to a woman who started an anti-breast cancer project.

Ovarian cancer, you may remember, claimed Brosnan’s first wife, fellow actress Cassandra Harris, way back in 1991.

Since then the County Meath native has remarried and had two sons, but naturally Cassandra, mother of his eldest son, will never be far from his thoughts.

His late wife, Brosnan said, was a "magnificent mother, a wonderful actor. There are too many of us who have lost someone to this brutal disease called cancer, and we are all sick and tired of cancer winning."

The wonderful lady he had the honor of introducing, breast cancer survivor Andrea Ivory, runs a mobile mammography project in Miami that provides free screenings.

Ms. Ivory was star-struck when posing for photos, but Brosnan made sure that the limelight was aimed squarely in her direction.

“Stunning,” Brosnan said, watching his hero as she smiled for the cameras.

"You make me nervous," Ivory said, but Brosnan let her know that this was her time to shine. "You're the star," he said.

Though no one would doubt Brosnan’s star power for a minute, he’ll likely cede many of the headlines next March to his next co-star, "Twilight" mega-star Robert Pattinson. The two will play father and son in the drama "Remember Me," which opens on March 12.

Pattinson is the rebellious college student, and Brosnan the wealthy dad. The two -- surprise, surprise -- don’t connect, but Pattinson finds a soul mate in a fellow student, the son of a cop who was abused as a child.

Not quite sure where all this leads, but guaranteed there’ll be plenty of buzz in the days leading up to its release given Pattinson’s star power. Trailers of "Remember Me" are all over the Internet, and we have to say that Pattinson cleans up real nice compared to the way he looks in the "Twilight" flicks.
