New Pierce Brosnan flick to open Hamptons Film Fest

Irishman's family drama 'The Greatest' to screen at Long Island festival

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan stars in the new family drama "The Greatest"

Pierce Brosnan’s new film “The Greatest” is slated to open the 17th annual Hamptons International Film Festival on October 8.

The family drama, which co-stars Susan Sarandon, will kick off a lineup of 107 features and short films, which will screen at six venues across the Hamptons in Long Island.

“The Greatest,” which screened at the Sundance Film Festival this year, features Irishman Brosnan and Sarandon as parents coping with the death of their son.

Another Irish actor will close out the Hamptons Film Festival.

The U.S. premiere of Heath Ledger’s final film, “The Imanginarium of Dr. Parnassus,” featuring Colin Farrell, will be the last film to screen on October 12.
