Colin Farrell is a changed man. It was when he started becoming 'really bad news' on the set of flop movie 'Miami Vice' he knew it was time to take stock and turn his life around.

The Irish actor checked into rehab for six weeks shortly after the film wrapped because he started to realize his addictions were becoming a big problem.

Now sober and substance free, Farrell admits he has little memory of making 'Miami Vice' with Jamie Foxx. 'I was always very functional, but that was the first film where there were a couple of days I missed because I was f**ked.'

He added, 'My kind of romantic fecklessness had turned into something more debilitating personally and creatively, because the word was spreading that I wasn't reliable.'

The Irish super star admits his family was far from surprised when he checked into rehab because many people close to Farrell thought he should have sought help for his issues years before.

The actor added, 'I had issues way before I ever stepped into an acting class - my family were worried about me for years and years. The stuff I used to get up to, the way I used to drive and what I used to have in my system. I'm profoundly lucky that I got out unscathed and that I didn't kill anyone.'
