Susan Boyle will sing for Prince Charles

Singer Susan Boyle performs on stage at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, prior to the Papal Mass

After missing out on an opportunity to sing for Prince Charles last year, singing sensation Susan Boyle will get her chance this year at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards.

Boyle, 49, is said to perform her version of the Lou Reed classic "Perfect Day," for Charles and his wife Camilla next Monday.

SuBo was banned from singing "Perfect Day" in the U.S. recently by Reed himself.

The runner-up of Britain's Got Talent said "It's going to be a real privilege to be performing before His Royal Highness the Prince Of Wales," she said.

"It's going to be a great night. I can't wait to be there."

Subo thought she would be performing for the Prince last year at the Royal Variety Performance Show but her slot was given to the winners of "Britain's Got Talent," a dance troupe called Diversity.

By now SuBo is used to performing in front of high profile people.

A few weeks ago she performed for the Pope and has in her short few years as a celebrity met and sang with many big names.

She is also said to be making an appearance on U.S. television series, "Glee."

Susan has a beautiful voice, a resilient spirit, and is a very nice lady. Good for you, Susan!
Wonderful!!! Susan is certainly deserving of this honor. Everyone in attendance will be gobsmacked with her singing!
Good for Susan!! She deserves it! Can't wait for the new album.
Yes, I am so happy for Susan. Only the winner of Britian's Got Talent gets to perform in the Royal Variety performance show. Diversity won in 2009, so Susan was well aware that she wouldn't perform in the Royal variety show last year. Susan will get her chance this time.
Antoinette, Susan Boyle has not "been a celebrity" for a "few years". It has been less than 2 years since her audition in April of 2009. She did not "think she would be performing for the Prince last year because that appearance is only for the winner of BGT. She quite obviously knew Diversity were the winner and therefore would be making that performance. You are quite right that she is indeed a "singing sensation". I have heard the samples of her new album, "The Gift" and it is stunning! Susan Boyle is indeed a "gift" to the world.
