Mark Wahlberg and David O’Russell reunited for ‘Silver Linings’
The big screen adaptation of Matthew Quick's novel The Silver Linings Playbook will see mark Wahlberg team up again with director David O. Russell (the pair last worked together on The Fighter).
Wahlberg will play Pat Peoples a former high school history teacher just released from a mental institution and placed in the care of his mother.
Pat mistakenly believes he has only been committed for a few months - rather than four years - and he plans on reconciling with his estranged wife, feverishly trying to become the man she had always desired.
Meanwhile Pat makes a friend in Tiffany, the mentally unstable, widowed sister-in-law of his best friend, Ronnie (in a role that may be played by Anne Hathaway).
The odd pair strike up an odd friendship, but Pat can't tell friend from foe or reality from totally deranged optimism, so every day turns into an absurd adventure.
For fans of The Fighter the script will be in the hands of a dream team. And in The Other Guys Wahlberg has shown he has a softer comedy side just waiting to be explored.
