It's been a busy two weeks here at The Gathering Dublin. We had a few days of matches with the CFAI Gathering tournament at Peamount United Football Club in Greenouge, Dublin. At these matches players from universities from Wales and Ireland competed in two days of matches, fostering an international community through the sport of soccer.

Everyone put in their best effort, with Ireland the victor on the first day, while the Welsh team turning triumphant on the second.

Also at Peamount we have had two Football For All Gathering tournaments. Football For All is a programme run by the Football Association of Ireland that is made up of players from all groups and sporting bodies and caters for people with a disability who want to play football.

The LD tournament took place first, with Scotland emerging as the winners with a 4-0 victory against the Irish side. The second tournament was with the Irish Cerebral Palsy squad, who in their final beat hot contenders Holland to become tournament champions. With a game that was 2-2 after the second half, then 3-3 in extra-time, finally it came down to penalties with Ireland victorious at 4-2 after a thrilling shootout.

Supporting the teams at the tournaments have been our group of volunteers made up of people actively involved in the local community.

Included below is a video of the highlights from the CFAI game. Check out our website at www.TheGatheringDublin.com for information on the other tournaments taking place during the year.
