Starbucks is testing a new café latte that will taste like Guinness, but don’t worry, it’ll be alcohol free.

The coffee moguls explained that “The Dark Barrel Latte” is made with flavored syrups that mirror the flavors of the dark Irish stout. The latte will then be topped with whipped cream and a dark caramel sauce.

It’s officially described as “a new handcrafted beverage that highlights chocolaty dark caramel and toasty stout flavors.” It’s also “available iced or as a Frappuccino.”

The Seattle-founded coffee kingpins are testing the news drink across the US.

According to a Buzzfeed reporter who tasted this new experiment in Columbus, Ohio, the concoction tasked “remarkably like stout.”

Already the reaction on Twitter has been mediocre at best:

@Miss_Stoel @MailOnline Of all the alcoholic beverages to choose from, Starbucks chose Guinness? A waste, I tell you.

It’ll be interesting to see what Guinness purists think of the drink. Starbucks is known for their coffee flavors such as Salted Caramel Mochas to Cookie, Cream Frappuccinos, and of course the beloved Spiced Pumpkin Latte, but could attempting to mimic stout be that one step too far?

Guinness’ flavor is a piece of craft that’s been developed over the past 250 years or more and while the stout flavor certainly goes with chocolate and coffee well we’re not counting on this one to be a goer.
