Olivia Wilde is set to play Justin Timberlake’s mother in a new film that explores the power of riches in a culture where there is no more money; instead, there is time.
The concept of the movie is that in the late 21st century, there is no more money; instead people pay for things with time. Everyone stops growing at age 25, and from then on, they are given one more year to live. They can add on time to their lives in the same way in we make money in our society, and the same goes for how they lose it; a cup of coffee, for instance, can cost four minutes off of your life. When a person runs out of time, they die.
Justin Timberlake plays Will Salas, a man who is falsely accused of murder and must figure out a way to gain more time to prove his innocence. Amanda Seyfried plays the girl whom he kidnaps as an unknowing, naive accomplice, and the movie also stars Cillian Murphy, Vincent Kartheiser, Johnny Galecki, Alex Pettyfer, and Matthew Bomer.
The film is directed by Andrew Niccol and set to be released this October. The film was originally called “Im.Mortal”, then, “Now,” and finally the name “In Time” has been set.
