“Iron Man” franchise director, Jon Favreau, has signed up co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson to join his new film, “Chef”.
“Chef” is an original idea by Favreau and follows Carl Casper (Favreau) who loses his job as a chef and begins a food truck business in hopes of reestablishing his artistic promise while simultaneously attempting to reconnect with his estranged family.
The film has also attracted other stars, such as Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Bobby Canavale. It is not yet known what role Downey Jr will play but firstshowing.net has revealed that Johansson will play a restaraunt manager named Molly and love interest to Favreau’s character. In a recent statement, Favreau said, "Scarlett is a tremendous talent and I'm honored to be collaborating with her again. I'm so fortunate to be working with such a fine ensemble," reveals the Hollywood Reporter.
Some cast members are already involved in learning what it takes to be a chef, with Leguizamo even posting some pictures on Twitter of chef training with Favreau. It is likely that the film will be sold at 2013’s Cannes Film festival. Filming will begin on July 8 in Los Angeles.
