Irish actor Liam Neeson has revealed that the Canadian ski resort where his wife Natasha died never sent him as much as a sympathy card never mind an apology.
Neeson has told an American TV show of his annoyance at the lack of a gesture from the resort after the 2009 skiing accident which claimed Natasha Richardson’s life.
He has also revealed that certain segments of his recent emotional and frank interview with Anderson Cooper were left on the cutting room floor according to a report in the Daily Mail.
In a new interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, the 61-year-old from Antrim revealed: “There were some other things I said On 60 Minutes that got edited out, that I wish had been kept in.
“The ski resort where Natasha met her death... and we got hundreds, maybe a couple of thousand sympathy cards, e-mails and stuff from all over the world, especially America...'
“Not one from that ski resort. I kid you not. Not one.”
The paper also reports that the actor praised Anderson as a journalist despite the editing.
Neeson again explained how he arrived at a Canadian hospital to be told by doctors that Richardson was brain dead after her accident.
He said: “She was on life support... I went in to her and I told her I loved her, said ‘Sweetie, you're not coming back from this, you've banged your head’.
“She and I had made a pact, if any of us got into a vegetative state that we'd pull the plug. That was my immediate thought, Okay, these tubes have to go. She’s gone.”
