U2 front man and Dublin native, Bono, joined New Jersey hero, Bruce Springsteen, on stage at Croke Park on Sunday night.

The friendly pair performed, a track co-written by Patti Smith and The Boss, “Because the Night” before close to 50,000 screaming fans at the home of Ireland Gaelic Athletics Association (GAA), Croke Park.

Bono and The Boss have previously performed this track together at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary at New York’s Madison Square Garden, in 2009. Again in 2003 they performed this track at Springsteen’s show in Miami.

It seems that the E Street Band really enjoyed their two gigs in Dublin (Friday and Sunday). Springsteen's bandmates Nils Lofgren and Jake Clemons took to Twitter beaming about their time in Ireland.

Still buzzing after 2 extraordinary nights in @CrokePark ...sending my humongous gratitude for being there with us! #TheRiverTourDublin

The Boss also seemed to have a great time in Dublin over the weekend. The Irish American star stayed in one of Ireland’s best hotels, the Merrion, and was spotted out and about in the city, much to the delight of his fans.

On Saturday afternoon he stopped by the Long Hall on South Great George’s street to pull a pint before heading to Stillorgan to go bowling at the Leisureplex. The Boss previously rented out the whole complex for some bowling fun.

It seems that the star, with Irish roots in Kildare, treats Ireland as his home away from home. What’s certain is that his Irish fans can’t get enough.
