Members of the Cavan Town branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (Society of the Musicians of Ireland) treated passengers to an impromptu ceili on an Aer Lingus flight over the weekend.

The talented Irish musicians were on their way home to Ireland from a musical tour in Frankfurt, Germany when their Aer Lingus flight was temporarily delayed due to weather conditions.

Busting out their banjos and bodhrans, the young Irish musicians decided to perform a selection of lively, traditional tunes for their fellow passengers.

Sínann Fetherston, a journalist with RTÉ Lifestyle who happened to be on board, shared these clips from the craic-filled session:

The impromptu ceili, of course, won a stamp of approval from Aer Lingus.

Also on board was Belfast-based content creator Ged, who shared his own TikTok of the impromptu session in the skies.

"I've never been more happy to be stuck on a flight," Ged said in his TikTok that's been viewed more than 33k times.

"It was definitely one of those moments when you just feel so proud to be Irish," he added, "because where else are you going to get these vibes?"

This wasn't the Cavan musicians' first pop-up session. On October 30, while waiting to board their flight to Germany, they performed this rousing rendition of a reel:
