For the first time in eight years, one of the top Irish events in Britain will take place this Friday, May 13.

The Ireland Fund of Great Britain’s London City Lunch will make its grand return this year with over 200 prominent Irish leaders in Britain gathering in the prestigious five star venue One Whitehall Place, the former official residence for Scottish kings for their visits to London.

Led by an organizing committee including Irish Post publisher Elgin Loane, Confederation of British Industry President Paul Drechsler CBE, Powerscourt Chief Executive Rory Godson and Irish Ambassador to Britain Daniel Mulhall, the event will be attended by Belfast virtuoso flute player Sir James Galway, London Irish Rugby CEO Bob Casey, and many well-known names from the worlds of finance and construction.

“We are delighted with the response to date and thrilled to bring together so many prominent Irish leaders to raise awareness of the real and pressing needs of marginalized Irish people and communities,” said Ireland Fund of Great Britain Managing Director Mark Carrigan.

“We are anticipating a full house of celebrated guests for what promises to be a sensational event.”

The lunch will begin with a Champagne reception to afford guests the opportunity to catch up after the eight years absence and to connect with the new leaders who have emerged in the meantime.
