Congratulations to Alice and Gerry Lynch of Melrose on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 20th. Alice (nee O’Leary) is a native of Kenmare, County Kerry and was the Boston “Rose of Tralee” representative in 1961. Gerry, a native of Tralee, County Kerry is well known in both Boston GAA and show band circles. In recent years, he was the leader of the “Kerry Blues” show band. The happy couple are pictured outside the Holy Cross Cathedral in Boston where Cardinal Sean O'Malley said a special Mass for those celebrating their golden and silver anniversaries.
Boston Irish Business Association and friends are hosting their 'Annual Night at Fenway Park'. This year's event takes place on August 20 when the Red Sox's take on the Angels. The fun will begin at 5:30pm on the roof deck of one of Boston’s best sports bars, The Baseball Tavern, before the group will make their way to Fenway Park for the 7:10pm start.
