US Open tennis finalist Caroline Wozniacki has come out firing again over the abrupt end of her relationship with Irish golfer Rory McIlroy.

Asked on ‘Yahoo Sports In Depth’ by host Graham Bensinge about the public nature of the break-up Wozniacki blamed McIlroy for the media storm.

Wozniacki said, “It was very hard. He made it very public from the start he put out a press release and all of that. I didn’t have a choice it just got put in my face.”

However, she said she was recovering from the break up. "Right now I’m in a good place, better than in a very long time.”

Asked if she was surprised he ended the engagement with a ten minute phone call Wozniacki said, “I was shocked. I thought at least a face-to-face or something, but there was nothing. Just a phone call and I did not hear from him again. Kinda just ended."

Wozniacki stated she had learned a lot from the breakup. “It taught me a lot a lot about myself and relationships..I’m definitely on the other side now.”

She denied it was impossible for her to have a successful tennis career while pursuing a love match.

“It is very important to have a life off the court. For me it wasn’t that hard to balance tennis and a relationship. If you are happy off the court you play better.”

Since the break-up she admitted she has been getting a lot of offers from single guys.

“I have gotten a lot of tweets.. funny tweets about I’m single too ......some genius tweets that almost deserved to be answered.”

As to what she looks for in a guy she stated “honest, fun to be around doesn’t, take himself too seriously. A taller guy [McIlroy is 5ft 9] so I can wear my heels.”
