Ann Marie Delaney is first generation Irish American, born and bred in the Bronx. Her Irish roots are split between Co. Mayo and Co. Galway.
Delaney is the private events manager and wine director at Harbour Lights Restaurant in the South Street Seaport in New York, a restaurant voted one of the top 10 most romantic eateries in the city.
Delaney's background in wine studies and the culinary arts is vast. She is a graduate of the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust of the International Wine Center in New York, the Culinary Institute of America's Professional Wine Studies Program and the famed Ballymaloe Cookery School of Co. Cork.
Not only is Delaney widely educated in the culinary arts, but she also holds a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire, as well as an ESL teaching certificate from University College Dublin.
Delaney is an associate board member of the Irish Repertory Theatre.
When asked about her Irish heritage, Delaney said, "I would like to thank my parents and my family for being so passionate teaching my brothers and I about their birthplace, the west of Ireland. I will always be grateful to them for sharing their genuine love of Ireland, the history and of course the people.
"From a very young age, I knew that Ireland was and always will be home. As my brother likes to say, 'I am American by birth, Irish by the grace of God.'"
