As a Shamrock Club member you have hopefully benefitted from your complimentary gifts, deep discounts on a wide array of products and services  offered to you as well as being part of a vibrant and burgeoning online Irish community. Your membership, most importantly, has benefitted sick children and brought smiles to their faces and warmth in their hearts with your generous and charitable support of the charity Barretstown.

Based in bucolic Kildare, Ireland, Barretstown is a therapeutic summer escape for terminally ill children, aged 7 to 17, from Ireland and all throughout Europe. It was founded in 1994 by the late American movie actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman, who modeled this camp after his very successful summer program in Connecticut, The  Hole in the Wall Gang, that too catered to children stricken with cancer and other illnesses.

This fairytale castle gives these angels a chance to forget about their illness and build confidence and self-esteem. Such fun offered at the camp includes arts and crafts, canoeing, and other various outdoor adventures. Theater too is emphasized here in the spirit of its founder. Barretstown also caters to the families of these children by encouraging parents and siblings alike to partake in camp activities as well.

And thanks to you and your support Barretstown has worked wonders for these children. According to recent studies, these kids have dramatically improved socially in acquiring such skills as teamwork, cooperation, and friendship-making. More importantly campers adopted a positive attitude toward their illness after learning they were not alone and that many of their peers have similar issues.

So feel proud of your very noble charity work Shamrock club members.
