Founded in 1791 by Dublin innkeeper James Power, POWERS’ original home, at John’s Lane Distillery, in The Liberties. It employed engineers, woodworkers, brick makers and even its own fire brigade, which helped to save Jervis Street Hospital during the Easter Uprising of 1916.
