Departing Dublin, you will travel west through the counties of Kildare and Offaly. The first stop is the attractive village of Kinvara, where you get a chance to take some superb photos of Dunguaire Castle and discover its remarkable historical legacy.
From here you will head to the Burren. This is one of Ireland’s true national treasures: a land of limestone pavements, rare flora and ancient stone monuments. The Burren was also home to one of the earliest Christian settlements in Ireland.
Next, you will move to the incredible Cliffs of Moher. Here, you can walk the stunning cliff trails and watch rare seabirds swooping through the air. You can also delve into the excellent and award winning environmental exhibition nearby.
After exploring the area thoroughly, you will head into Galway City, where you’ll be staying for the next two nights. On the way, you will pass through the famous Galway Bay. Picturesque views, excellent food and cozy pubs await you within this lively student town.
Travel inland through the Maam Valley to the village of Cong, the setting for the film classic, “The Quiet man”. You’re free here to visit the local museum devoted to the movie, or discover the magnificently restored 12th century Cong Abbey.
Your tour will continue through the heart of Connemara and the beautiful house and grounds at Kylemore Abbey, where grand buildings and magnificent man-made gardens are a treat for the eyes and soul.
Your journey continues to Connemara National Park, where abundant wildlife resides amidst the ancient tombs and wood paths. Here you’ll see the magnificent Diamond Hill, a 500m peak that rivals any summit in Europe.
And then, you will travel to Clifden, famous for being the location of the first transatlantic flight landing. In the Connemara National Park, you’ll also enjoy the majesty of the Sky Road, as well as the sharp peaks of the Twelve Bens of Connemara.
You will then travel back for the night to your cozy residence in Galway City.
We wave goodbye to Galway and take some of the quaint back roads through central Ireland.
Clonmacnoise is the first major highlight of the day. It’s the site of an early Christian settlement and boasts a famed collection of churches, fabulous stone crosses and round towers.
After lunch in a local village, the tour continues through the peatiest Irish bogs you’ll ever see. The flora and fauna will take your breath away, while a local guide shows you the incredible biodiversity of the bogs.
Then you will make your way to your final stop before Dublin: Locke’s Distillery, the oldest licensed distillery on the planet. Here you can relax with a glass of their famed whisky, and after a drink (or two?), head back east to Dublin.
"We love travel as much as you do. We prefer it to any roller-coaster, movie, or concert. But there are a few things we don’t always love about travel. Like when you get stranded on a dark single track road. Or end up at a large hotel that serves frozen food made 1,000 miles away. Or when you see something incredible, and have no way of finding out what it is. So, our award-winning small-group tours take care of details and ensure you and your driver-guide’s adventures are free from the things that make travel less lovable.
Here’s how we deliver travel experiences you’ll love:
You learn from the best storytellers. And this is no overstatement. Our driver-guides are world famous for their knowledge, facts, quirky stories, history, and fairy-tales. They truly take you beyond the guidebooks and into your adventure.
You explore in top of the range 16 seat mini-coaches. This means you never get lost, you always take the scenic route, you have great views through large windows, and you’re free to sample the local tipple without worrying about driving.
You support the local communities. You do this because we take you to the lesser known attractions and recommend locally owned accommodation. What’s more, for every ton of carbon we use, we donate £10 to environmental and community projects.
You make your trip your own. We provide the timetable; and along the way you can choose where you want to eat, sleep and which attractions you want to see. So, if you want to stop off and feed a highland cow or maybe linger longer in the castle courtyard with a glass of wine, you can.
Guaranteed departures: you book, you go. When you choose to book with us, you’re going - no minimum numbers.
Guaranteed experience or your money back. If you feel you’ve not had the experience you deserved, and we’re at fault, we’ll give you your money back.
So, take a tour with us and learn to love travel even more than you thought you could."View Profile
