In music to our ears, two of Ireland's most iconic acting talents will feature in a highly anticipated Netflix movie.
Hold on to your cowboy hats, Liam Neeson and Brendan Gleeson will be galloping into your living rooms in the coming months.
"The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs" is a six-part Western from the vision of Oscar-winning director duo Joel and Ethan Coen. The project will premiere on Netflix later this year, after it competes at the Venice International Film Festival later this month.
Just seeing this still from the new Coen Bros. movie, "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs." #themisanthrope Tim Blake Nelson, Zoe Kazan, Liam Neeson, and Tom freaking Waits, who I'm surprised is only now in a Coens' movie. pic.twitter.com/5D8H10EY7A— Chris Oxley (@thechrisoxley) July 30, 2018
The feature profiles the tale of an American frontier and will star Tim Blake Nelson in the lead role as Scraggs, alongside Neeson and Gleeson, and talents such as Zoe Kazan, and Tom Waits.
The Irish actors previously worked together on movies such as "Michael Collins", "Kingdom Of Heaven", and "Gangs Of New York".
It is expected that "The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs" will also qualify for Oscar consideration.
“We’ve always loved anthology movies, especially those films made in Italy in the Sixties which set side-by-side the work of different directors on a common theme,” the Coens said in a statement.
“Having written an anthology of Western stories we attempted to do the same, hoping to enlist the best directors working today. It was our great fortune that they both agreed to participate.”
Seeing as the Coens have already been nominated for 14 Academy Awards, this latest project is sure to get everyone fired up.
