Founded in the height of the economic crash in 2008 by Sean Power, they developed quickly from a small run family coach / bus operator business into to a very successful tour operator business.

“After the economic downturn in 2008, we found it difficult as a small run family business to survive. Since 1986, my father Jackie, had built up a very solid local business but after the downturn things changed as many local clubs, schools, sports teams and social groups understandably tightened their purses to survive”.

After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies in Tourism in 2009, Sean set up Irish Experience Tours with a view to offering adventure and activity tours to more culturally curious market.

“All we wanted was to give people a chance to connect with local culture and local stories. Eat classic Irish food with a small twist, combined with an authentic experience in a local hotel or pub. Offer people a peace and calmness between activities and a ‘wow’ factor without too much effort.  We also wanted to be competitive by keeping our prices low, without any big mark ups in price or commission.  As long our mini coaches were on the road, we were happy not charging for the extra hours designing unique trips and organising bookings.”

Their Wild Atlantic Way tours are very flexible and competitively priced.  All their scheduled small group tours include good quality local food and amazing short or long walks for you to choose from. If you are tired of mind blowing scenery, you have the option of choosing from heaps of adventure activities that will give you access to special discounts while travelling with Irish Experience.

“Our private customized trips can be far more flexible as we can accommodate travelers of different ages, abilities and tastes. With any active group tour there is always an element of balancing different abilities and levels of fitness and levels of willingness. It’s generally easier to do this on a private tour.  We make sure there's time apart where everyone gets to do what they want at their own pace, and then there's time together for meals and relaxing to ensure that everyone has the private experience and trip that's perfect for them.”

So if you are planning a solo trip or a family vacation to Ireland sometime soon, it would be wise to contact Irish Experience Tours, as they go where the local go!
