@Riley1987, we all know that some Irish people that travel abroad like to slag it off and Exaggerate alot. Thats one thing they are very good at. The education system is still one of the best in the world, with all the cutbacks was alot of waste in the system in healthcare. And millions of people get treated for free. Ireland is still one of the safest countries in the world to live. Lets not forget thousands of people come to ireland every month, so far this year 125,000 moved to ireland from abroad, thousands more than what left.
Given the cutbacks to healthcare, education and frontline services such as policing, Ireland should be nowhere near this list. All you need to do is ask one of the thousands of Irish people who emigrate each month.
I must say, I was surprised to see Avoca named in connection with this. If it weren't for the fact that ballykissangel was filmed there, this town would seem to be almost a ghost town...although my visit there was in 2002, to be honest. It was definitely a pretty little town, but seemed to be mostly deserted, even though it achieved fame through the BBC series. I shopped in the stores seen in the picture, one of which was named after Brian Quigley. Hendley's was still there, in all it's glory!
