Good suggestions, but it is really hard to do better than being in St. Louis, MO. There is a St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown on the Saturday before the Day and another big Parade on the Day itself in the Dogtown section of St. Louis. And to top it off you really should go to John D. McGurk's Pub after each parade. Great trad music and great people All day & night.

Denver has the second largest St Patrick's Day parade in the US. It's over three hours long.

Ahhh....such fond images this conjures up! I've done many of those places listed....and they were nice. BUT, for me, the BEST is in Dingle, Ireland. Quaint, non-commercial & a very lasting memory!!

Consier the fact that San Antonio, Texas has both its Street parade and River Parade the same day, March 13, 2010. Street parade is at 11:00 AM and River parade is at 3:00 pm. But prior to that is an Irish show at the Arneson River Theater from 1:00 until 5:00. For more information see www.harpandshamrock.org.

It might be worth noticing that the Montreal Parade is the longest running parade in the world and that is the Second largest next to New York

Oh come on now!!! How could you leave of Syracuse, NY as a great place to celebrate. It has the largest St. Patricks celebration for a city o it's size in Ameerica and a very large Irish population that was developed when Irish people left and came to America and worked on the Erie Canal, living in Syracuse which was the midpoint of the canal between Albany and Buffalo.
Syracuse is still the only palce in America where at the four corners on Tipperary Hill, the sto light is green on the to and red on the bottom, per a congressional law submitted on and made law due to my uncle, Congressman James Hanley.
