Thank you for the wonderful pictures. It gives me insight into the land of my Grandparents. My life's wish/dream is that I am able to see Ireland and Scotland soon. I love this site - it offers me so much information about my heritage.
Thanks for posting these photos. Being from Galway, I love the Galway Bay shot! I would love to use the Donegal Highlights on my website. Any ideas as to what how I can purchase the photo?
absolutely beautiful
Ahh, yes, I know how lucky I am to have seen all these places....and I'm especially lucky to be going back again in 2 months. And YES....all of Ireland is stupendous, without a doubt one of the most beautiful countries....
Been to Ireland twice and EVERYTHING there is beautiful and can't wait to go back again.
All beautiful, but, "Slieve League" in Donegal is spectacular and few tourists!! and the real beauty is the friendly, welcoming PEOPLE!! Slainte
I agree with your picks but the Rock of Cashel is among my favorites. To walk where St Patrick walked, the incredible view, and standing below looking up at the building is awesome. Ireland is full of beautiful places-I want to go back soon.
Love to be there but have no travel funds for a year or so.
The Arch takes you out to the top of Grafton Street. All the names of the Officer's, NCO's and Men who died in action with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers in South Africa are engraved on the inside of the Arch. My Grandfather returned,at the ripe old age of Eighteen, himself and a few others were captured by the Boers. They did'nt execute them due to their young age and being Irish, the Boers did'nt want to upset the Irih People as they contended that England was the enemy not the Irish. Besides Grandpa and his buddies lied about their ages in order to take the "Queeh's Shilling' In fact out of the eighteen taken prisoner lied about their age.
It's very difficult to pick the top ten, i.e. How can anyone leave out the Mountains of Mourne, The Green Glens of Antrim, County Wicklow, commonly known as the Garden County. West Cork, the Gougane Barra Lake, Oh Yes, The Cliffs of Moher. There are so many Pubs right off Grafton Street, McDaid's, The Bailey, Davy Byrne's all frequented by The Poets and Artists. All mentioned in Books by James Joyce and Brendan Behan, Flann Nolan. Did I Leave out Wexford and the Hills of Donegal? I could go on and on...../
a wonderful place to visit. beautiful.
Absolutely breathtaking scenery, can hardly wait to see the Emerald Isle.
Been to all but two of the ten. Better go back to Ireland!!
I was raised to have a vision of Ireland as a magic place of wonderful folks and natural beauty...It is even better than that....the Emerald Isle, from top to bottom is simply exquisite and her people are also.
