Africa? Blues? Turtles? Harlem Globetrotters? Of course these are the things people go to Ireland to see! The northern Ireland tourist board is a joke. This article is embarrassing.
I have visited Northern Ireland on all three of my trips.I never had any problems and enjoyed myself while i was there.I found Derry to be my favorite city in all of Ireland because of its history, its people, and of course those wonderful Old City Walls.Anyone going to Ireland should go to the north because if they don't they will be missing out on a lot.My grandaughter & myself leave for Ireland on March 29th.to spend 5 weeks there & she will see Northern Ireland just like me.
i've been to Northern Ireland 16 times and have never been without excitement. Carrick-a-rede bridge, Giant's Causeway and more. Much to do in Belfast, Derry, the whole Antrim Coast, Glens of Antrim and on and on. After all these years going over, I still have lots more to see and enjoy. What is shown up above is not my idea of 10 things to do. How about castles/ruins? OMG, bring out the real reason to go up North.
You left out a couple of activities for Northern Ireland- 1) Murder Family Pets. 2)Kill a couple of Cops. Promoted by Sinn Fein. smarock10@yahoo.com
Personally, I would rather know of things that are not time-specific. Giant's Causeway, Carrickfergus Castle, walking the walls of Derry, etc are there when you want to go.
How is travel for americans? a few years ago my boss went to the southern part of Ireland. But didn't have any desire to go to the Northern Part. Mostly because of the problems in the past. Are they losing out because of old bias or a real concern for safety?!
There's also Carrick a Reed Rope Bridge, the Giant's Causeway and the Bushmill's Distillery. For activities, check out Glasgowbury Music Festival 24Jun10 in South Derry.
