I regret Lonely Planet's probable unwitting collaboration with the intoxication industry, and the perpetuation of the commercially convenient mythology that the Irish are an inherently alcoholic peoples. Just because a certain distillery purloined the musical instrument motif iconic of Ireland as bestowed by Henry VIII of England, (also representative of the province of Leinster/eastern Ireland - and the Irish President!), doesn;t mean that their devil's buttermilk is as good as supposed.

We (family of 7)had a wonderful time sitting on plastic milk crates in the alley behind O'Donoghughes!Still heard the great music ,servers came out and took care of us.It was packed, and thus our seating arrangements. We loved it!

Left out Foley's at 1 Merrion Row, Dublin. I haven't been to Dublin in years. Don't like large cities (except Belfast). Foley's was always a nice stop after a busy day in Dublin.
