Rathmines is also in Dublin6, it has quiet a few pubs, probably the best one is Rody Bolands.

Correction: McSorleys is in Ranelagh Dublin 6, Rathgar is also Dublin6.

What about The Bailey on Molesworth St (I think) or Bruxelles (rock pub)? How about McSorley's in Rathgar (I think).

Most Dublin pubs are dumps. The TV is blaring, probably showing some English soccer match. There's no conversation, no wit, nothing. Most people gaping at the TV, and maybe cursing if "their" English team makes a mistake. Irish pubs have become sad places really.
