Druids celebrating Solstice feel negative energy on the Hill of Tara

Hill of Tara Druids say that M3 Motorway has created negative energy

Some 200 people gathered to celebrate the summer solstice at the Hill of Tara yesterday, including several modern-day Druids who came sporting full traditional attire to take party in a ceremony that’s been held at the site for millennia.

The sun rose as expected at 4:57am as a huge ball of orange fire shimmering above the eastern horizon.

Many at the site had stayed awake all night to watch the sun come up.

Local druid Annette Peard, who comes nearly every year, told the Irish Times how “Sometimes we only know the sun has risen because of the time, but this was beautiful,”

Druids and locals, alike, however, used the occasion to sound off about the M3 motorway which has controversially been built through the Tara-Skryne valley.

The “presence” of the motorway was “invoked” several times by the motley group of spiritual hearers and shamans gathered at the site, and they said that it had left a negative energy on the Tara area.

“Tara is wounded,” said local campaigner JP Fay wearing a traditional long gabardine cloak

“We need everybody’s prayers and help because the evil people [the Government] are working against us. They don’t care. The battle has been lost but there is such a thing as the curse of Tara. I wouldn’t wish it on any person,” said the Druid.

Fine. We have to re-organise here in Ireland. The success of the M3 motorway - and it was a great success for them, the government - was due to hostility and bitter infighting between Druids in particular over the past several years in Ireland. They didn't win it, we Druids threw it away:-) Politics entered into it , thus strife and defeat! So we must re-organise and try not to destroy it all and ourselves again. I shall be present in Michael Maguires cafe on Tara on the morning of the Solstice this year for all those who want to have a go at Peace and Unity amongst the Druids of Ireland to help in any way I can. Druids are certainly not dead but are flourishing under a new renaissance of pride in Irish culture, mythology, language, music, history, our ancient sciences, ancient sites, everything that connects us deeply and spiritually with our past and Spirit. What will die is the commercialism, greed and corruption that replaced it. The Curse of Tara lives!
This motorway is an abomination and there certainly *should* be a curse on it and all who built it. If there isn'tone yet, I place it... NOW! Selah!
Druids are like, erm, how do you say this kindly? – dead. I saw the fabulous photos of the ice event on the Irish Times site. One struck me immensely – a young woman, dressed in druidic garb, holding an empty chalice towards the morning sun. That photograph should go down in history as proof that Jesus Christ's blood awaits her and all others.
