NEW YORK CITY

The Empire City has more Irish bars and restaurants than any other city in the world, the legacy of how immigration and love of tradition created a strong and vibrant Irish-American community. It also benefits from hundreds of thousands of tourists and students from Ireland, and other stars in the global Irish universe.

Every borough in the city has at least one Irish stronghold with terrific Irish pubs and restaurants. But it's a safe bet that there are great bars dotted all over the city map, from cozy neighborhoods to Times Square. The sign of a shamrock in a pub's window is just about a sure sign that a proper pint and a great time is waiting inside for you!

If you are looking a landmark Irish establishment in the city, then why not try McSorleys, the legendary Irish bar that first opened its doors in 1854. Women were not allowed in until 1970!

McSorley's Old Ale House is located at 15 East 7th Street, New York, NY 10003. Ph: 212 474 9148

Anybody visiting the Chicago area must visit the newly opened Sheep and Fiddle Irish Pub in Bartlett Illinois. Owners are Jeff and Sarah Staley. Sarah hails from Fermoy, Co.Cork Ireland, she is well versed in the best of Irish food and they serve the best Guinness. Happy days!!!
"The Olde Timer's" in Clinton, MA. (pronounced "CL'N'N" by locals) most Irish town west of Boston, MA!! Slaint'e agus Tiannt'e
In San Francisco, the only place to be is Harrington's on Front St where the biggest March 17 party is held every year.
In Boston: It's got to be The Behan in JP. In NYC: Trust in Rocky Sullivan's; although it was a little closer to heaven (and hell) before it moved from Lex in Manhattan across the river to Red Hook in Brooklyn.
You need to add Mullaney's Harp and Fiddle in Pittsburgh to your list!
Umm...Coleman's in Syracuse. Owned by Peter Coleman who is the brother of the Dan Coleman that owns the Dubliner in D.C. If your from Syracuse, the Dubliner is merely "Coleman's South". A glaring omission considering you have any place from TX.
Dacey's Pub in Morristown, PA, suburb of Philadelphia
Tom Bergin's in Los Angeles
In Memoriam ... O'Flaherty's Irish Channel in New Orleans. Requiescat in Pace!
Mother Egan's in Austin, Texas
Trinity Hall in Dallas, Texas is a great pub as is Kelly's in Kansas City, Misoouri.
