    CAVAN qualified for the final of the Ned Devine's Knockout championship against Leitrim courtesy of this four point win over a game but over matched Down squad in the final game of Sunday's card.

    The win came from an overpowering first half display when Cavan recovered from a Gary Cornyn goal for Down, and they quickly had a Brian Newman goal that preceded seven points to Down's one over the remaining 20 minutes of the first half.

    Kevin McGeeney had three of those scores as he played in his second game of the afternoon, and he was fantastic in the middle of the park.

    HARPS and Gillbert's faced off last weekend for a very physical fight. Gilberts kept its winning streak alive with a 4 - 1 win over Harps.

    Tina Cressent ran down a beautifully placed free kick by Aine O'Dwyer and put it in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

    GILLBERT'S secured the league championship with a 1-1 draw with Velocity. After a scoreless first half, Velocity struck first with a breakaway goal as Gillbert's thought they had pulled Velocity offside.

    With just a few minutes remaining, Gillbert's worked the ball up the field and in a three on three situation, Alexis Trinidad elected not to take her own shot, but to pass off to Jeanine Rynne, streaking to left post who beat the keeper with a fine opposite post shot.

    DOCS 2 beat Tigers 1-0 with a goal from Leenie McEvily. Docs dominated the first half, scoring the only goal halfway through. Tigers never let up and put more pressure on Docs in the second half, but couldn't score.
