Celebrate Ireland's national holiday in the capital, with many cultural events and entertainment happening throughout the city for this four day event from March 15 - 18. There's something for all the family, with the amazing spectacular of acts from all over the country performing in Dublin's St. Patrick's Day Parade on the day itself. In May 2013, Cork will once again welcome choirs from across the world for a programme of gala concerts, schools concerts, national and international competition, and world-class performances. This annual writers' week celebrates Irish writers new and old, who are passionate about their craft and wish to share it and teach others how to hone their own skills. May 30 to June 03 2013 will be no different, as the festival attracts visitors to the charming medieval city of Kilkenny and its surrounding regions. Ireland Bike Fest is an international festival for motorcycle owners, enthusiasts and anyone, young or old, with an interest in bikes. Get yourself to Killarney May 31 to June 03 2013 for hundreds of amazing custom made machines on display, opportunities for ride outs, test rides and bike services. From 7 to 9 June 2013 the second International Quilt Festival will take place in Galway City. This festival is completely outside the box in its design, as a traditional Irish Quilter’s Village will be created especially for the event. The Cork Street Performance World Championships will be held at the Mardyke Sports Ground and Fitzgerald Park in Cork City, simultaneous to events in Dublin on June 8 and 9, 2013. The event features some of the best entertainers on the planet, including football freestylers, cheeky magicians, stand-up comedians, sword swallowers, boxing acrobats, and more. The Dublin Street Performance World Championships will be held in Merrion Square on June 8 and 9, 2013, simultaneously to events held in Cork. They are all coming to Ireland to battle it out in front of huge crowds for the most coveted title in street performance, the Street Performance World Champion. Taking place throughout Cork City, the Cork Midsummer Festival is an annual 16-day summer celebration of contemporary arts and culture, from June 20 2013. It combines local, national and international events, with something for everyone to enjoy. The Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival takes place on the beach in Bundoran Town from June 28 2013. Sea Sessions is rooted in a love of surfing. In addition to surfing and music, other activities include street performers, gourmet food outlets, tag rugby and beach soccer tournaments. The West Cork Chamber Music Festival is one of Europe's leading chamber music festivals, and features the finest international and Irish ensembles and soloists. The musical action takes place from June 28 to July 6 2013, during the day at St Brendan's Church in the centre of Bantry Town, while almost all evening performances are held in the spectacular setting of Bantry House. The Old Crescent RFC in Limerick is the setting for the world's largest tag rugby festival. During a hugely enjoyable weekend, hundreds of fit male and female players experience the best tag rugby has to offer at the Pig 'n' Porter Tag Festival. Taking place from July 28 2013, the festival programme offers a fantastic range of outdoor pursuits set amongst the breathtaking lakes, hills, valleys and mountains of Killarney. The Kinsale Arts Festival is a renowned, multi-disciplinary festival featuring local, national and international artists. It is an exciting week of unique and inspiring events that combine drama, art, food, music and literature. Dates for 2013 TBC Earagail Arts Festival is a bilingual (Irish and English language), multidisciplinary arts festival which takes place every July throughout County Donegal on the North West Atlantic seaboard of Ireland. The Galway Film Fleadh is Ireland's leading film festival. Each July it welcomes to Galway City a diversity of filmmaking from around the world. The Fleadh is above all a film lover's festival and it attracts directors, actors, cinematographers and artists of all ages and cultural backgrounds. In July 2013, the Westport Music Festival will celebrate its eighth consecutive year of bringing music and activities to Westport Town. This festival offers visitors three days of top quality national and international art and world music in the streets, squares and parks of Ireland's oldest city. The Kilkenny Arts Festival, Aug 9 - 18, 2103, aims to introduce visitors to unique shows across a range of disciplines, from jazz to classical, theatre to alternative music, and visual art to crafts. Enjoy street performances around Kilkenny’s winding medieval streets and shows staged in unique locations, such as Kilkenny Castle's Parade Tower or St Canice’s Cathedral. Tullamore Show and the AIB National Livestock Show is a family event which attracts a large audience of local, regional and international people. Happening August 11 2013, it is an authentic cultural experience that combines livestock, entertainment, fashion, music, home, garden and more. The Rose of Tralee is known all around the world as a festival of Irish culture and pride, culminating in the selection of the year's Rose. There's fun for all the family over this four day festival in Tralee, Co. Kerry, which will be held from August 23 - 27 2013.<br /><br /> The GAA Hurling Championships commences in May with matches taking place around the four provinces of Ireland. The tournament culminates with the exciting All-Ireland final being staged in Dublin at the GAA’s national stadium, Croke Park, on Sunday, 8 September 2013. - SPORTSFILE Make a plan to be in Ireland's oldest city to enjoy one of the country's premier food events, the Waterford Harvest Festival. From September 9 - 15 2013, food lovers will gather in Waterford City for a six-day celebration of the very best of Irish food. The event incorporates all sectors of agriculture and rural living. The Championships will be held from September 24 - 26 in the year of The Gathering. - ALF HARVEY Dublin Theatre Festival, running from September 26 to October 13 2013, stages major international theater every year. Within the festival, there are many different programme strands which incorporate everything from music to dance and cutting edge theatre to the biggest Broadway shows. Each September, Galway City comes alive as it celebrates the Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival. It is the most internationally recognised food festival in Ireland and the world's longest-running international oyster festival. The festival will be held from September 27 to 29 in the year of the Gathering. Sligo Live presents more than 100 performances from folk, roots and indie musicians.
