The newly designed IrishCentral, a website for the voice of the global Irish

We are delighted to announce that on January 15, IrishCentral went live with our newly designed website.

A few months ago, we asked our readers what they would like to see on the new IrishCentral site. We listened to you and our finished product is a clean, simply designed website that is easy to use.

Founder Niall O’Dowd said “IrishCentral wanted a creative new vision for our site, encompassing all we have learned in our first few years when we quickly grew to be the largest Irish Diaspora site outside Ireland. We were overdue a new look; in this business a week is a long time, and we were essentially unchanged since 2009.”

With that in mind we hired some new people led by a former Facebook Global Business manager, who assembled a full creative, advertising, and design team.

Our new site has been designed by the guys at Mayday Mayday Mayday, a New York-based design firm. They have worked with us for the past couple of months to build a fantastic new experience for our users.

IrishCentral is easier to use than ever. We have separated our content into five sections: News, Business, Sports, Opinion, and Roots. Within each section you will find the day's trending stories.

In 2014 IrishCentral is renewing its focus on the dynamic innovation and entrepreneurship being led by the next generation of Irish American business leaders.

We know how much our users love to share our stories so we’ve made sharing our content across social channels easier than ever. Our Facebook page followers are rapidly growing so we wanted to ensure that you can quickly and easily share your favorite stories. We're also embracing our growing mobile readership with a fully responsive design.

Another aspect of IrishCentral to get a facelift is our daily newsletter. We have over 150,000 subscribers and we wanted our new newsletter to match the look and feel of the website, that would also look great on mobile or tablet.

We want to thank you for your continued support. We hope to achieve great things in 2014 and our long term objective is to become the largest Irish news and heritage site in the world. With your help we can get there!
